AB32 Small Business Update and request for case studies.

The California Air Resources Board is currently developing a set of resources to help small businesses save money and voluntarily reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Resources that they are developing include:

· Specific cost-saving actions that your business can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

· Compilation of existing financial resources that provide incentives and rebates to fund actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

· Statewide award program to recognize businesses that reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and/or make significant efforts to educate employees and/or the general public about strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

· Business-specific calculator to calculate your business’s greenhouse gas emissions and to determine what actions to take to further reduce emissions

· Case studies that highlight how California businesses are already reducing their greenhouse gas emissions

It’s with the last element – California Case Studies – that we need your help! Many California small businesses are already taking action to reduce emissions. We at the Air Resources Board would like to learn more about these businesses so that we can develop them into case studies and feature them on the online home of the resources (coolcalifornia.org). If you would like to suggest a business, the information that we are looking for includes:

· Business name and short description

· List of actions that the business has taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. NOTE that most actions businesses take to improve energy efficiency and reduce waste result in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Any business that has “greened” itself should be submitted!

· Cost of the actions associated with reducing greenhouse gas emissions

· Annual savings associated with the actions described above
